News Had our annual Australia day bbq last weekend, which saw me spending 4 hours next to the BBQ in temps hovering around 2ºC. Lots of roo and emu burgers, roo steaks, prawns and barramundi to consume and haven’t had too many complaints on my cooking :).
I’m also off to Holland this week for a business trip. First work trip in over a year so I hope the work credit card still works!

Photo Gallery This weekend saw even more snow fall – about 6 inches in total. Fiona and I went off to Godmersham for some photos at the church there, and after lunch I went off solo to Blean woods for some more photos. Was encompassed in a blizzard at least three times, and spent 10 minutes running around in the snow trying to photograph a red robin, which eluded me in the end, only for one to literally bounce up to my feet. Below is a quick mobile shot – more photos coming soon.

News Temperatures have plummetted again, with most of London and western/southern England covered in a thick layer of snow. in Canterbury? – nada! Meant to be snow in eastern Kent tonight but we’ll see. Regardless, the temperatures are biting cold – a holiday to the Caribbean would be nice right about now

News Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. 2010 is now upon us and at this point, who knows what it will bring?
Christmas this year was spent with our good friends Helen & Nic, who cooked up an amazing feast of turkey, trimmings, veges and pudding. It was hard to move after all that! We then followed up at the Olviers, who introduced Fiona to Snowball cocktails and has subsequently become addicted to them
The break between Christmas and New year was spent at work by Fiona, who did little but twiddle thumbs, while I completed long overdue DIY in our bedroom renovation. Conduit trenches dug into the wall by the electrician have finally been plastered up and over, with the walls painted and papered now to an almost professional standard.
We also briefly popped into London to catch up with Roberto and Frances, our old friends from Leeds who are back in the UK briefly since moving to Newcastle, Australia. Many chickens were consumed at Nandos, as was plenty of fine coffee at a coffee shop on Oxford St.
Finally, it snowed again yesterday so everything is a winter wonderland in Hillside Avenue. Unfortunately it will be ice in a days time which isn’t fun to drive on.
