Grounded

Posted under News, Travel

I was due to fly into Germany this week for a development manufacture but alas was grounded due to volcanic ash (as you do) being spewed into the sky from a volcano in Iceland. There go the frequent flyers :)

As it turned out, it was probably for the best as I picked up a cold from somewhere and was bed ridden for a week. Hmmm :-?

Duckly’s!

Posted under News

After having our previous dead beat lodger managing to left a fox kill all out chickens and ducks last May, and then some cunning animal get through my 6 foot high fox proof defenses, we’ve got more chickens and ducks at last.

The two chickens, Biriyani and Jalfrezi, are Black Rock and White Sussex breeds respectively and are already starting to lay at age 16 weeks.

The ducks we got from 5 days old and are Indian Runner ducks –  one boy and two girls, which we’ve named Usain, Kelly and Cathy after the runners Usain Bolt, Dame Kelly Holmes and Cathy Freeman.  Photo below – see if you can spot the odd one out (and yes, it is a wind up :))

Safe, for now

Managed to survive the cut at work with redundancies announced today. Again, another 10% are being lost from the group, which is a shame – particularly for those where the redundancy is forced rather than voluntary. Just waiting for group reorganisations now.
